"The Heck with Foreclosures and Short Sales, I'm Building a Home in Plantation in Fort Myers."  These were the words of a good friend of mine.  I have to admit, being a Realtor, I was quite shocked by his statement. 

For the price, you just cannot beat purchasing a Foreclosure or a Short Sale, but some people are giving up on the chance to save.  When I spoke to him in depth about his decision, he commented that most of the distressed properties were badly abused and dealing with the banks was not worth the hassle.
